Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge

Take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks for Sailors’ Children’s Society

24 miles. Three iconic peaks. One incredible challenge.

Join Team Sailors and take on one of the UK’s most rewarding walking challenges – the Yorkshire Three Peaks – while raising vital funds to support children and families from seafaring backgrounds facing financial and emotional crisis.

Starting and finishing in the village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, you’ll take on three of Yorkshire’s best-known peaks Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m), with the goal of completing the full 24-mile route within 12 hours.

It’s going to be tough, but you won’t be doing it alone!

  • Date: Thursday 15 October 2026
  • Total distance: 37km / 24 miles
  • Total ascent: 1,381m / 4,531ft

What We’ll Provide

We want you to concentrate on the challenge and your fundraising, so Sailors’ Children’s Society will cover the cost of your guided experience, with experienced Mountain Leaders supporting the team throughout the day.

You’ll also receive:

  • A Sailors’ Children’s Society branded T-shirt
  • Fundraising support from our team in the build-up to the challenge
  • Help setting up and promoting your fundraising page
  • Plenty of encouragement from Team Sailors!
  • Pit stops for lunch, snacks and refreshments to help keep you going

Please note that accommodation and travel to and from Horton-in-Ribblesdale are not included, so participants will need to make their own arrangements.

Your Fundraising Mission

In return for us funding your place, we ask every participant to aim for a minimum fundraising target of £500.

Every step you take and every pound you raise will help Sailors’ Children’s Society provide financial, practical and emotional support to children and families from seafaring backgrounds when they need us most.

Whether you’re an experienced hiker or looking for a challenge that takes you completely outside your comfort zone, this is your opportunity to do something amazing while making a genuine difference.
