200 Business Club
Our Patron, HRH The Princess Royal launched the 200 Business Club at
The Maritime Museum in Hull on Tuesday 7th November 2017 with over 100
local businesses attending the event. The aim of the 200 Business Club
is to raise enough funds to buy six new caravans to replace the old
ones by our 200th Anniversary in 2021. The Club benefits are as follows:
• Members get the opportunity to be associated with our long standing
royal tradition and be part of the history going forwards.
• Members will get preferential treatment at the Sportmans Lunch
• There will be a special members only dinner during our celebratory
• The £200k raised will be used to buy 6 new caravans for the benefit
of the disadvantaged children we support; replacing 6 worn out ones.

Friends of Sailors' Children's Society
At our Annual General Meeting on Thursday 3rd August 2017, we launched
the group -
Friends of Sailors' Children's Society which we aim to build a network
of friends both locally and throughout the UK who we can call on for
help in a number of different ways. This could be:
- to promote the work we do
- to help in the office via the Hull History Centre with our Newland
Homes orphanage archives
- to help at our fundraising events
- to arrange local individual events such as coffee mornings or even
- to bring any special interests or practical skills for the benefit
of the Society eg design work or perhaps to act as a local caseworkers
to a family we support.
As you may be aware, we celebrate our 200th year anniversary in 2021
and we very much hope our new network of friends can help us throughout
the UK to make it extremely special year with many events planned; as
we again move forwards and continue to provide relevant support to disadvantaged
children of seafarers.

SPORTSMAN'S LUNCH - FRIDAY 13TH OCTOBER 2017
The event raised a staggering £40,167 which is the
most we have ever-raised in one event. It was held at the Mercure Hotel
in Willerby and was sponsored by Williamson Solicitors. Eddie "The
Eagle" Edwards was our guest speaker and was sponsored by Nat West
and Hendersons Insurance Brokers. If you are interested in your name

GOLF AM AM - FRIDAY 16TH JUNE 2017 (Update)
Following a very successful day this year, we raised £3,985. This event
was held at the Hull Golf Club in Kirkella and 22 teams enjoyed a round
of golf with refreshments in the halfway house and then a 3-course buffet
meal. We also have a raffle and a presentation on the evening. If you
